The hospitality industry is currently launching a campaign to get VAT on pubs, restaurants, hotels etc reduced to 10%. Many countries in Europe have already benefited from a lowering of VAT, while the UK is still killing off numerous venues every week because of our 20% VAT rate. On 1 July, Ireland will become the latest country to drop their VAT rate for hospitality, demonstrating that this reduction works. The brand new #vatstheproblem campaign has been launched within hospitality this week and will go national to coincide with the Irish VAT reduction on 1 July.
